【Zhengzhou 10,000 mt Lithium Battery Cascade Utilization Project Launched】This project will primarily dismantle retired LFP and ternary lithium battery packs sourced from channels such as 4S stores and scrap vehicle dismantling plants. After collection and preliminary detection at various cooperative service outlets, these battery packs will be transported to the project site for further dismantling. Modules and battery cells that pass post-dismantling inspection will be reassembled into cascade utilization battery cabinets or battery packs, which will be widely applied in household ESS, industrial and commercial ESS, and low-speed power-related fields.
【Ganzhou 20,000 mt Lithium Battery Recycling Project Nearing Production】It is reported that the total investment of this project is 128.11 million yuan. The construction includes four new processing and treatment production lines for scrap lithium batteries and supporting facilities such as modern workshops, dormitory buildings, and quality inspection buildings. The project focuses on recycling valuable resources such as cobalt, nickel, copper, and aluminum from scrap power batteries. Upon completion, it is expected to achieve an annual processing capacity of 20,000 mt of scrap lithium battery units for crushing and sorting.
【Scrap Lithium Battery Recycling Project Launched in Shandong】On March 6, the People's Government of Tengzhou, Shandong Province, announced the public participation information disclosure for the environmental impact assessment of the Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilisation Project (Phase I) by Tengzhou Sunwoda Renewable Resources Co., Ltd., marking the project's entry into the public participation and opinion collection stage. Located in the New Energy Industrial Park of Tengzhou High-Speed Rail New District, the project has a total investment of 6.2 billion yuan and will achieve an annual recycling and processing capacity of 50,000 mt of scrap lithium batteries. The project will adopt pyrolysis technology, significantly improving the recovery rate of rare metals such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, and manganese, while reducing costs by 40% compared to traditional processes.
【Annual 200,000 mt New-Type High-Density LFP Project Nearing Production】The annual 200,000 mt new-type high-density LFP and supporting main material integrated project by Jiangxi Shenghua New Materials Co., Ltd. is a provincial major project with a total investment of 5 billion yuan. The project is divided into two phases, with Phase I officially put into production in September 2024, featuring six production lines and a production capacity of 75,000 mt of LFP cathode materials. Construction of Phase II began in early December 2024.
【Gansu 40,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilisation Project Launched】Recently, the Natural Resources Bureau of Gulang County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, officially announced the "Annual 40,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilisation and Zero-Carbon Resource Reproduction Industrial Park Project" by Gansu Chenyue Yuchen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
【Guangdong Comprehensive Utilisation Expansion Project Announced】Guangdong Pengrui Environmental Protection Resources Co., Ltd. plans to invest 500 million yuan in a resource comprehensive utilisation expansion project at its existing plant site, covering a total area of 205,671 m². The plant's current hazardous waste treatment capacity is 388,550 mt/year, general solid waste treatment capacity is 20,000 mt/year, hazardous waste collection, temporary storage, and transfer capacity is 37,000 mt/year, copper refining capacity is 29,988.62 mt/year, and tin dioxide refining capacity is 4,405 mt/year. The company currently holds two hazardous waste operation licenses in Guangdong Province, with a total licensed operating capacity of 285,000 mt/year.
【Sichuan 100,000 mt LFP and 50,000 mt Lithium Carbonate Project Announced】Recently, the Environmental Impact Report of the Lithium Resource Recycling Project by Sichuan Kunwei Technology Development Co., Ltd. was publicly disclosed for approval. With a total investment of approximately 2.3 billion yuan, the project covers an area of 510 mu and is located in the Dechang County Featured Industrial Park. It aims to promote the high-quality development of Sichuan's lithium battery industry through the efficient recycling of lithium-containing materials. The project will comprehensively utilise lithium-rich aluminum electrolytes, lepidolite, and spodumene to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate and LFP. It includes five production lines, with three for lithium carbonate and two for LFP, achieving an annual output of 50,000 mt of lithium carbonate and 100,000 mt of LFP.
